For The Benefit Of: Beats That Bind

"In 2012, Australia took only 30,000 refugees, ranking 49th in the world. We want to raise awareness and we want to do more."

Answered by: Claire Mooney

Who/what is the benefit for? Beats That Bind is a student initiative, live music event, to support care.org.au by raising awareness regarding issues surrounding refugees.

Why do they need help? Beats That Bind need your help to support refugees and the countless displaced families around the world. Through music we hope to support refugees and raise awareness through our donated profits to care.org.au.

What's the current situation like? There are currently 59.9 million forcibly displaced people and 19.5 million refugees worldwide. In 2012, Australia took only 30,000 refugees, ranking 49th in the world. We want to raise awareness and we want to do more.

Who else is helping on the night? Beats That Bind is proud to announce Diafrix, Dub Princess, Bailey Jones and Shifteq as artists who will be joining us on the night to celebrate diversity in Australia and the current issues surrounding refugees.

When and where can we help out? 14 Nov at Rubix The Venue.
