In the lead up to the Byron Bay Bluesfest we spoke to some of the 200 artists who will be performing over the five day festival, which kicks off on 24 Mar. We found out five fun and wacky things about Hussy Hicks:

  1. Leesa Gentz was cast to play Dirt Girl in the first ever live adaptation of the show, Julz Parker was also cast as a guitar playing bee.
  2. Parker once unknowingly initiated a bar fight with Prince Bin Laden (Osama's cousin) in Dubai after an 'interpretative action dance' was horribly misconstrued…
  3. Leesa once got married by a Latino Elvis impersonator in Las Vegas to some guy named Greg… Last name unknown. She also shaved her head around the same time — we like to remember this as her Britney Spears phase.
  4. Parker once hitched a ride on the Public Enemy tour bus in China after staying back too late and almost being stranded at the festival grounds.
  5. Parker, Gentz and bass player Tracy Stephens first joined forces for a short stint in a band called Fatima & The Unwanted Advances.
