Musical influences play a huge part in shaping an artist's sound throughout their career. Many artists wouldn't even exist, or be who they are today, if it wasn't for the inspiration they've experienced from other producers.

NATHAN FAKE

"Being big Aphex Twin and Autechre fans, when I first heard Nathan Fake it was really exciting. Nathan has a fantastic sense of melody, and he also wants you to dance - while he mangles the shit out of the sound. The man has a lot of taste and it always seems effortless."
LUKE ABBOTT
"He's on the Border Community label with Nathan Fake. He's one of the best modular synth guys around. He's so musical, rather than just a nerd-hobbyist, which seems to be the thing with modular gear. Amateurs. They should listen to Luke Abbott before blowing their savings on all that gear."
HOLDEN
"James Holden of course is the legendary founder of Border Community and his record The Inheritors was/is very exciting for us. It was a long time between albums for him, where in the meantime he basically denounced 'kick drum' dance music, in favour of a more exploratory Krauty sound. Again, using modular equipment, which he couples with a live drummer and sometimes a saxophonist."
AFRIKAN SCIENCES
"This stuff bent my head when I first heard it. I'm still trying to figure it out. It's rare to hear something new, that has no connections to anything else you're listening to (I'd never heard of him before). I thought "nobody else is making music like this". That's rare."
HOLLY HERNDON
"When I first heard her I thought 'the Americans are finally catching up and turning electronic music on its head'. This stuff is so futuristic. Her voice manipulation stuff is great. The computers are trying to talk."
