Feki & Glasshouse team up to cover James Blake's Retrograde

Feki tops off his massive year by teaming up with Glasshouse for a brilliant cover..

More Glasshouse Glasshouse

James Blake's Retrograde is a timeless tune. Released almost three years ago now it was the shining star on his second studio album Overgrown. The crooning vocals and charismatic production still send shivers down my spine every time it gets a play. Definitely one of the success stories of the Australian electronic scene in 2015, young gun Feki has stepped up to the plate, teaming up with local Brisbane duo Glasshouse to cover Retrograde and by no surprise, the results are amazing. Twinkling keys, light guitar strings and a soft brassline introduce Glasshouse, with their vocal capabilities smashing every other cover of the track out of the water. Speaking about the single, we're told "all three of us are huge fans of James Blake and his effortless style. We wanted to toy with the crazy melodies on Retrograde, and explore what was possible with Blake’s instrumental foundations.", and that they do, re-imagining the single, turning it into something just as special. After dominating what has become a big 2015 for the electronic up-and-comers, Feki closes off his year with the Retrograde cover, as well an exclusive performance at EMC Play this Wednesday the 3rd, at Crystal bar. And just for old times sake, here's the original.
