FEATURE ARTIST: Husky

The combination of their powerful music and their haunting live performances which have made Husky a band to keep your eye on

If you don’t know who HUSKY are by now – quick! Get acquainted with them below before anyone notices!

Husky have had a very successful past twelve months. After winning 2011’s Triple J Unearthed competition with their singles ‘History’s Door’ and ‘Dark Sea’, the Melbourne four-piece recorded their album Forever So, and flew to Los Angeles to mix it with Noah Georgeson (The Strokes, Joanna Newsom), releasing it in Australia in October 2011. Just recently, they were picked up by legendary label Sub Pop (Nirvana, Fleet Foxes), who are due to release Forever So internationally in July this year.

So what’s all the hype about?

Lyrics riddled with elusive metaphors; songs with driving yet mellow rhythms; overdramatic climaxes tastefully avoided – these are just some of the ingredients that Husky blend together to create blissful sonic landscapes. Husky aren’t about showing off their craftsmanship – instead, you’ll find that you’ll barely notice the songs as they literally take you to a place beyond the physical realm.

It’s this combination of their powerful music and their haunting live performances which have made Husky a band to keep your eye on.

Keep up with HUSKY on their website here.
