"I hope to make new connections to build our global network."

Position: Co-Director, In Place of War / Founder, Un-Convention

How did you first become involved in the music business? My parents bought me an electric guitar for my tenth birthday and my life changed forever — as a musician, as a record label founder, a festival producer and a global music activist.

What's your area of expertise and what experience do you have? I work in the music industry/international development — running a record label, made over 100 festivals across the world, work with music and creative entrepreneurialism, and build music studios in areas of extreme disadvantage.

What topics will you be mostly talking about at Face The Music? Globally influenced ideas about how to nurture, develop and promote talent; build new systems and infrastructure; and to think more globally about an alternative grassroots music infrastructure.

What do you hope to personally take away from Face The Music? I hope to make new connections to build our global network, experience new great Australian music and to bring some profile Australian artists to engage in our international work.

What's one question about the music industry you'd love to have the answer to? What does a fairer music industry look like? Is a fair trade music infrastructure possible? And what could that look like?
