Holy HolyIndie duo Holy Holy are amped to be releasing their debut album, When The Storms Would Come, next Friday, 24 July — just in time, in fact, for their stint at Splendour In The Grass. Today, the boys are exclusively premiering the video clip for Sentimental And Monday on theMusic.com.au, an evocative clip that looks at Earth from up amidst the clouds.
Filmed primarily by Josh Dawson, guitarist Oscar Dawson's brother, the video circles the basic idea of "looking into our world, from the outside, a sort-of third-person approach to the planet".
“The song itself is about saying goodbye, and we have extrapolated that out to the entire globe; the idea being that we are in some sense, saying goodbye to the world. We are looking down upon a civilisation that built and worshipped both technology and idols, which eventually collapsed. Which is prescient, given current events — in particular in relation to global warming."
Experiencing the same winter dread that many of us succumb to when the colder months are upon us, Sentimental And Monday itself is "inspired by the onset of winter and the feeling of the long, dark season approaching".
