EP PREMIERE: The Revivals - The Revivals

Brisbane-bred indie-rock brothers The Revivals premiered their debut single, Love Align, just over a year ago to the day, announcing themselves on 27 May 2016.

Now, a full revolution around the sun later, the boys are back with their first, self-titled EP, a four-track collection of spunky, earnest tunes — three of which were mixed by band members Samuel and Alasdair Cannon themselves.

Included among the track list is second single Our Time, originally released back in March. It's an easily accessible and innately enjoyable piece that marked the introduction of a new bass player to the band. Here, it follows on from EP opener One Day, A Dream, which introduces itself to listeners with deeply sassy grooves and driving, danceable drums.

The Revivals show they're far from a one-trick pony in the short run time of the release, though, with Day By Day demonstrating emotive vocal delicacy and instrumental restraint, while uplifting closer Where Are You Now? draws on elements heard across the preceding three tracks.
