What kind of courses do you offer? Bachelors and Diplomas in: Music Performance, Audio Production, Entertainment Management and a Diploma in Entertainment Journalism.

Do you offer practical on-site learning or more of a theoretical base? We offer both practical and theoretical learning. Our students work at music industry events such as Laneway Festival, Paradise Festival and Face The Music every year as well as gaining a range of other industry experience throughout their course. We want students to apply what they are learning in the classroom into real industry experience as soon as possible.

What makes you different to other educational institutions? Throughout both the diploma and the degree, students are taught and mentored by industry experts who are currently working in the industry. The students also have to work collaboratively across courses on projects to give them insight into all the different parts of the industry. We have a very strong community at Collarts that we are really proud of and we are growing every year.

What kind of social activities do you offer? We have regular BBQs and lunches, movie nights, student gigs and shows around Melbourne and on campus, which we all attend. We have regular performances and workshops by local and international musicians/industry for all students.

Do you offer job opportunities, internships, or other ways to help students get ahead? Absolutely. Our students have to complete a 60-hour industry placement at the end of their course and we encourage students to apply for jobs and internships throughout their time at Collarts. We have a Student Experience Coordinator who creates industry opportunities for our students and our teachers are also constantly helping the students with industry experience while they are completing their course. As I mentioned, students are given the opportunity to work at a number of events Collarts support.
