What kind of courses do you offer? Bradfield Senior College is a senior high school that specialises in the creative industries. Our Year 11 and 12 students learn in an independent, personalised approach in an adult-style learning environment. We offer both traditional academic HSC subjects plus TAFE certificate courses in areas such as design, music, dance, entertainment, hospitality, IT, digital media, retail and tourism. As well as a strong academic focus, our aim is for students to be inspired, innovative and connected.
Do you offer practical on-site learning or more of a theoretical base? As a high school we use both practical and theoretical learning methods to achieve the best results for our students. We also practice project-based learning where students gain knowledge and skills by problem solving, doing and creating. We believe the learning environment plays a big part in how students learn, study and interact. With that in mind, we've created spaces where students can study, relax, socialise and be themselves.
What makes you different to other educational institutions? The biggest difference between Bradfield Senior College and other high schools is it that we offer the best of school and of TAFE. There is a deeper level of collaboration between students and teachers as a segue into the work environment, greater autonomy and students play an active role in their education. We also ensure that students develop 21st century skills in critical thinking, problem solving, collaboration, communication and creativity to better equip them for life after the HSC.

What kind of social activities do you offer? As the School For Creative Industries, the social activities students can get involved in are primarily performance- and art-based. Students have the opportunity to perform and exhibit throughout the year, not only to their peers but also to the general public. Our students have performed at TEDxNorthernSydneyInstitute, Vivid Ideas Creative Careers, dance festivals, open days and other local community events. We have a strong school community and students can get involved by joining our Student Leadership Team.
Do you offer job opportunities, internships, or other ways to help students get ahead? Making sure students achieve their HSC is our priority, but we also believe in preparing students for life afterwards. That's why we've created our Industry Experience Program. Students learn about training, work, job seeking, communication and resume writing; find their personal strengths and are prepared for employment and further study. By working on real-world projects - such as our Vivid Ideas event - and undertaking a work placement each Friday in Term Two, they gain confidence and understanding.
