What kind of courses do you offer? Metro Screen offers an extensive selection of practical short courses that are taught by screen professionals and provide you with industry relevant skills. We also offer the Diploma in Practical Filmmaking, Diploma in Digital Content Producing and the Cert IV in Post Production. Our courses are affordable and most are offered on weeknights and weekends to accommodate your work commitments.
What kind of people would these courses suit? Our courses are designed for people who want to improve their practical skills base to secure work in the screen industries and are especially popular with tertiary graduates who need a closer understanding of how the industry works. We also cater to the professional practitioner looking to up-skill and we offer courses in film, TV and digital content.
What makes you different to other universities in Victoria and interstate? Metro Screen is based in Paddington, Sydney. We develop over 20 new short projects annually through our production funding programs, run regular professional development events and provide a digital video production equipment store with Chroma key studio for rent, post production and a crew hire service.
Do you offer job opportunities, internships, or other ways to help students get ahead? Metro Screen has strong connections in the industry allowing us to place upwards of 45 of our students into internships and placements annually. We also run the Emerging Producers Placement that selects two emerging producers for internships at a local production company, while providing professional development training, mentorship and a wage for a six month period.
