The Australian Film Television and Radio School is listed as one of the top film schools in the world by The Hollywood Reporter, just so you know.

What kind of courses do you offer? The Australian Film, Television and Radio School (AFTRS) offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses as well as short courses spanning all of the areas in the screen arts and broadcast industry.

Do you offer practical on-site learning or more of a theoretical base? AFTRS is famous for its ‘intense’ hands-on learning and teaching in the biggest and best equipped film, TV and radio school in Australia. The BA (Screen) which is new also offers deep engagement in the history of film and screen business in addition to the practical side, while the Masters In Screen Business offers deep immersion in the business of film and television.

What makes you different to other universities? AFTRS is literally Australia’s national film, TV and radio school set up by and funded by the Australian government. What make AFTRS unique is its outstanding facilities, industry practitioners who teach at the school and the connections to and with industry. Second to none in Australia, AFTRS has been consistently rated by The Hollywood Reporter as one of the top film schools in the world – the only educational institution in the country to make the list. AFTRS alumni are outstanding in their output and contribution to filmmaking around the world and recent graduates are also making their mark at festivals in Australia and abroad.
