Dominic Fike on 'Euphoria' (HBO)
As fans eagerly await the highly anticipated return of Euphoria for its third season, actor and singer Dominic Fike has raised uncertainty about whether he will return to the series.
The HBO series, which premiered in 2019, follows the lives of high school students dealing with relationship drama, drug addiction, and more. Fike's character, a drug addict named Elliot, played a pivotal role in season 2, becoming friends with Rue (Zendaya) and Jules (Hunter Schafer).
However, the revelation of romantic feelings and Rue's relapse added a layer of complexity to their relationship, leaving viewers dying to know what the long triangle would mean for season three.
However, despite Euphoria season three being confirmed, production delays and the departure of key cast members — including the shock death of Angus Cloud who played Fezco — have stirred concerns among fans, with Fike recently opening up about his tumultuous experience with sobriety during the filming of season two.
Speaking to Variety at the Sundance Film Festival, Fike revealed how show creator Sam Levinson hired a "random lady" as a sober coach to assist him.
“I actually am a pretty big drug addict myself, believe it or not,” Fike admitted. Reflecting on the sober coach, he revealed, “When I was on Euphoria, they kind of just gave me a coach who would just talk to you. It was just some random lady.”
“We had nothing in common. We didn’t come from the same places or the same problems. It was hard to take advice from someone like that or give a shit.”
Regarding his potential return for Euphoria Season 3, Fike remained uncertain, saying, “Last time I talked to them, it was cool, [but] I don’t really talk to them anymore.”
He added that it would be “dope” if he received a call for the forthcoming season.

“Who knows, I’ve got stuff to do,” he continued.
Fike has long been candid about his battle with addiction, including a previous revelation during an interview with Apple Music's Zane Lowe, where he revealed that he nearly got fired from Euphoria due to his drug use.
Following the finale of season two aired in 2022, the status of Euphoria has been uncertain since the Hollywood strikes and the pause on other projects by creator and director Sam Levinson.
However, executives have since expressed hope for the third season to premiere by 2025 and confirmed Levinson is currently writing the script.
Meanwhile, Dominic Fike will be heading Down Under for the 2024 Laneway Festival, alongside major names like Steve Lacy, Stormzy and more.
