DesiignerOwner of 2016's hip hop mega-hit Panda, Desiigner, is currently celebrating the successful release of highly anticipated single Timmy Turner — a recreation of the Brooklyn rapper's XXL Freshmen Freestyle released earlier in the year.
But, of course, if there is one thing that Desiigner is well known for (besides the unprecedented success of Panda earlier this year), it is his unique way of speaking. As the 19 year old himself says, in a conversation with Genius, “I care about my lyrics. I have my own way of saying things—I call it new English.”
Naturally, however, with the successful, buzzing release of the Mike Dean produced Timmy Turner, Desiigner has joined forces again with Genius to produce a... well... genius lyric video for the latest single.
"When it came time to do the ‘Tiimmy Turner’ lyric video, I knew Genius would help me bring the words to life,” says Desiigner, and bring the lyrics to life Genius have certainly done. Tapping artist Albert Omoss and the animator talents of Violet Office, the single's lyrics have been creatively immortalised, allowing fans of the buzzing G.O.O.D. Music signed artist an insight into the track's narrative.
