Melbourne trio Camp Cope have released their first new single in almost a year today, and unsurprisingly The Opener was worth the wait. Taken from their second LP due 2018 on Poison City Records, it's not mincing words in an emotive discussion on what it's like to be a woman in the music biz. Calling out the men in their music world (and by extension, most of the music world) who consistently think they know better, trying to enforce their own ideas and opinions on women in music who don't really need 'em: "It's another man telling us we can't fill up the room/It's another man telling us to book a smaller venue."
Charmingly lo-fi in a fashion that's garnered them fans the world-over since becoming a band in 2015, it's another message + music masterpiece that cements their positions as one of Australia's favourite punk-rock bands.
