How long have you been together? Five years as a band. We all graduated the same year in high school in 2009 and shortly after started playing shows around Brisbane.
You’re on tour in the van – which band or artist is going to keep the most people happy if we throw them on the stereo? Last year in October we toured down to Victoria, and when we’d come to a red light, nearly every time without fail, everyone would break out in singing Red Light, Green Light by Dune Rats. We all listen to very different music so being on tour is one of the only times we share each other’s musical interests at the time.
Which Brisbane bands before you have been an inspiration (musically or otherwise)? I approached BC Michaels way back when he played drums in The Cairos and told him I had access to my private school’s expensive film equipment. He invited me along to nearly all their shows and had me running around filming all the antics, so I met some awesome people including Sean, Lachy and Dan from The Last Dinosaurs and of course the boys from the infamous Comic Sans. All these bands have been a massive inspiration to us.
What part do you think Brisbane plays in the music you make? Personally I used to totally despise this town. My opinion has changed drastically over the years; I’ve actually grown to have a lot of respect for a many Brisbane bands and artists these days. Back when I didn’t think too fondly of the ways things were, Brisbane definitely inspired some lyrics and my general attitude. These days I draw inspiration from more personal and hypothetical things, not so much my surroundings.

What’s in the pipeline for the band in the short term? We’re releasing a full-length album early next year. Our final show of 2014 is at The Zoo on Thursday 27 November where we’ll see our second single, Nymphomaniac, released and pre-orders for the album begin.
