Bill Murray is bartending in New York this weekend because Bill Fkn Murray

I recently revisited Sofia Coppola's Lost In Translation and it left me with a profound sense of why even bother doing anything ever again in my life. Maybe it's hipster hyperbole, maybe I just fucking love Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson, but that movie to me is absolute perfection. While Bill Murray has always been a legend and never really "fell of the radar", it feels like Lost In Translation really made him "that guy" for a newer generation of movie watching people who maybe hadn't watched much of his older stuff.

These days it seems like he just kinda floats around, becomes the stuff of urban legend, and turns up in movies to make them infinitely more enjoyable.

Well this weekend it looks like he's going to be turning up (hopefully in both senses of the phrase) in a bar his son co-owns in Brooklyn called 21 Greenpoint for a couple of nights of bartending. Helping his son, who of course has the awesome name of Homer, open the bar for a couple of hours each Friday and Saturday night - it's definitely one way to get off the mark in style. Of the occassion, Homer said, "We want people to come and have fun. People can walk in; just be nice. What my dad lacks in experience, he makes up for in tequila.''

If having Bill Murray as your fucking dude isn't the coolest thing ever, we're not sure what is.
