Short description of your band and your music: There are four of us and we play summery pop tunes with guitars.

Has the party side of the music industry been all you were hoping for so far in your career? It's pretty fun but we play like shit if we're drunk so we try to save the drinks for after shows. It's nice playing in Melbourne because they don't have the bullshit lock-out laws.

What is the best thing that's happened to you/your band so far? We got on high-rotation on a Peruvian radio station so now heaps of Peruvians think we're a famous Australian band.

Are your ambitions mainly artistic or commercial? I think the "cool" thing at the moment is to be really punk and anti-commercial. We don't really care about cool, we just want to make good songs. Some come out commercial and some don't.

Is your music best rendered in the studio or the live realm? We have more fun playing live but you can experiment with sounds bigger than a four-piece when you're in the studio. We got Tom a sample pad so we could keep the strings in Burnout.

If you could have any act past or present join you on your next tour who would you tap? I heard Jack White has a really intense fedora collection — maybe Jack White because he could give us dope fedo-do advice.

What industry lessons would you like to take away from the BIGSOUND conference? There's a keynote thing called The Mysterious Role Of The Producer that I think could be really interesting. We do most of our own production but we want to get even better at it.

What acts are you looking forward to checking out at the BIGSOUND showcase? I'm really disappointed to have to miss Friendships because our sets clash, but really keen to watch Skegss. I saw them at QBar and they got drunk and paid each other out between songs.

Why should people come and see you from amongst the many cool bands at BIGSOUND? They don't have to, but they might have fun. We try really hard.
