Who are most excited to see perform at BIGSOUND?

Grent Perez!!!

What do you hope to take away from BIGSOUND 2022?

Excited to be playing in Brisbane!! I'm really looking forward to watching my friends play, some of them I haven't yet had the chance to see live (so many are gonna be there!!!).

I'm hoping to take away some useful knowledge from the panels and presentations that can help me navigate these early stages of my music career, there is still so much I don't know about. How Soon Is Now: How Climate Change Is Impacting Australia's Live Music Industry, Was The Pandemic Actually Good For The Industry?, NFTs and Artist Case Studies are three panels that piqued my interest. Honestly, I'm quite curious to hear the 'Sims and Roblox' conference. I love Sims.

Would also love to get some conversations going with some publishers and international labels if the opportunity arises :) Start working towards those next steps in my career.

What are you most proud of from the past 12 months?

I'm most proud of my music videos and how they've been received. I've had the freedom to storyboard, write, style, direct, set dress my videos. I've directed probably a hundred iMovie music videos since I was eight so being able to make my ideas a reality with a little budget behind it has been incredible. Creating all my cover art, posters and teasers is something I also really love doing.

What is a topic that we should be talking more about as an industry?

Lifting up and supporting Womxn/female producers. When I started doing songwriting sessions I was surprised at how skewed the ratio is. Some legends I am inspired by/have created with are Lola Scott, Vetta Borne, Chloe Dadd and Chelsea Warner!!  

Anything else you'd like to add?
