Raucous rock'n'rollers The Pinheads have been biding the time until their self-titled debut album, and it's finally here. We've got the exclusive stream from the Wollongong boys and it's a corker.
Having finished the album from start to finish themselves, the band state of the album, "We definitely didn't want to do what people expected of us. We took into consideration that it was our first album and we wanted to make something that was true to ourselves and honest. Music that we want to hear.
"A lot of the album was written on tour - in a ranch in Murwillumbah and in our home studio on the South coast - and also spanning back to the EP days. We're continuously writing - we never stop.
"The songs we chose for the album reflect where we were and what we liked at the time. All the songs were recorded in a studio we made with an accumulation of recording equipment we acquired over time. We value capturing the energy of our live show in our recordings, even if it means the takes aren't perfect. A lil schlop never hurt no one. We have no producer and no sound engineer - we like to have complete creative control over our work. We actually have no idea what we're doing. None of us have ever studied sound production or engineering. We fully wing it. In fact, most of us have no formal training in music at all. At times we feel like outsiders and that's probably because we are."
