Album title? Lowtide

Where did the title of your new album come from? Well now I feel incredibly boring! The name of the band came to life on a train ride between New York and Montreal, so let’s go with that.

How many releases do you have now? Three. The album follows You Are My Good Light 12” EP and the Underneath Tonight 7” released in 2011.

How long did it take to write/record? It spanned over three years – Giles lived overseas for 12 months during that time and we never felt any pressure to hurry. It was more important to spend time achieving the sound we wanted.

What inspired you during the making? Sources of my own personal inspiration included Stanley Kramer’s On The Beach, Low, Dean & Britta’s 13 Most Beautiful, Sibylle Baier and unbeknownst to the couple, an engagement that inspired the writing of Wedding Ring.

What’s your favourite song? Whale.

Will you do anything differently next time? Gabe’s pedal board is never the same week to week, so change is a constant certainty. Finishing the second album within three years would be a good start!
