Album title? Into The Stillness
Where did the title of your new album come from? It's the title of track five that I wrote with Dad. We explored the idea of being in both a present and vacant state of mind. And the feeling of bringing someone into that space.
How many releases do you have now? I have released two studio albums. The first was an EP titled She Won't Love You, and now this LP.
How long did it take to write/record? Two years. I had unfinished songs and some new ideas. I took them to Damian Cafarella of EOR Studios, a master engineer/producer and dear friend. Slowly over time it all came together beautifully and naturally.
Was anything in particular inspiring you during the making? The musicians that all contributed to my project were the biggest inspiration for me. I wanted to make sure there was an element of each of them on the recordings, so there were no rules/parts.
What's your favourite song on it? Joe Camilleri gave me a song to include on the album. It's a heartbreak masterpiece about regret, titled Heart So True.

Will you do anything differently next time? Not a thing. I loved being in the studio every day, whether it was just Damian and I or a special guest visiting to lay down their magic. It worked.
When and where is your launch/next gig? 10 Sep at Cellar Bar. I'll be joined by my six-piece blues-roots band, plus special guests Benjamin Smith & The Meltdown's Simon Burke.
