Airling has had a busy 2016 and she shows no sign of slowing down yet. The Brisbane artist is currently on tour and is set to perform in her hometown in only a couple of days, dazzling the audience with her magical charm.
Her music is always unexpected, in the way that her sound seems to navigate different territory with every track she releases. ‘Move Me’, Airling’s most recent single, had a bit of soul injected into a pool of pop and sweet synths. We thought since we have no idea what’s going to be coming next, we should ask Airling which artists inspire her the most and here is who she listed.

Sufjan Stevens
"The volume and expansiveness of his material is so powerful. He's incredible with words and lyrics. I've listened to his latest album "Carrie & Lowell" more times than I have any other album in my life."
D'Angelo
"I think he is the king of groove, vibe and makes the sexiest tunes. He's one of the reasons I love making music so much. And damn, that voice!"
Caroline Polachek (Chairlift and Ramona Lisa)
"Caroline is my vocal and melody muse. Her voice is obviously so technically good but it's the way she uses and flavours it that inspires me the most; her character."
Cat Stevens
"I grew up with his albums, so I have amazing nostalgic feelings when I listen to him. He's an incredible songwriter, and "Peace Train" is one of my fave songs... I actually want this song played at my funeral when I die. Morbid, I know, but it's like my human theme song!"
Beyonce
"She is a pure star and her voice, songs and dance moves blow my mind. Not that I can know 100% sure, but she seems to have kept herself true and radiated her roots throughout her career and that is something I deeply respect."
