Adelaide Fringe Festival Focus: The Light In The Piazza

Answered by: David Gauci

Describe your show in a tweet: Multi-award winning Broadway Show set in the '50s that tells the story of a mother and her daughter and how they discover love in Florence.

What was the inspiration behind your show? What drew me to the show? The language and music. The score is lush and brilliant, a beautiful cross between Hammerstein and Sondheim. Musical lovers will be transported by its full sound. It's also the only American bilingual musical English/Italian.

Tell us a bit about the creative team working on this project: Peter Johns has been the musical director on more shows than I have enough words to list, and our wonderful director Hayley Horton is equally as experienced. Both have been involved with award winning shows produced here in Adelaide.

What do you love about Fringe and why? Fringe is an opportunity to do something different and experience something different. There are no boundaries no rules only the expectation that each show is unique.

When and where is your Fringe show: 10 shows only. 24 Feb — 5 Mar - 7.30pm (Matinee 5 March at 2pm) Playing at the Star Theatre.
