Plug your show! Why can't we miss it?

The Russian Rock'n'Roll Burlesque Circus is an extravaganza where everything goes! We're a crazy, cutting edge mix of rock, divas, burlesque beauties, circus treats, freaks, poets and laughs... And our audience dresses up and is part of the show. All of our profits go to building an Art and Music School for an orphanage in Sierra Leone.

Where did the idea for your show come from, how has it evolved?

Last year we put on the event in just seven weeks to raise money for a friend's cancer treatment. It was a fusion of all of the creative arts from the edge that we love (rock, dance, burlesque, circus, cabaret, comedy). We held it at the Russian Nights Club in Bondi, and The Russian Rock'n'Roll Burlesque Circus was born.

What have the past few months or so been like in the lead-up Fringe?

Amazing! To be honest, having the Fringe milestones and structure, and their amazing team has been a fantastic support for me and the RRnRBC team and is fundamental to us being ready to rock the Fringe.

What the most cringe-worthy thing you've seen on stage?

Ha! Probably one of my own ballet performances at an Eisteddford many moons ago where I completely forgot my choreography mid-performance and improvised. And as I did a ponche, a move my ballet teacher did not want me to do, my eyes looked directly into my ballet teacher's eyes... The redeeming moment was when the examiner's notes said I had a 'beautiful ponche line'! It was beautiful but definitely cringe-worthy...

What other shows are you looking forward to at this year's Fringe?

There's so many! Luminous & Gallery Burlesque; The Tempest – Steampunked!; Jurassic Lounge with friends; Amelia Ryan's Storm In A D Cup… just to start.

What excites you about being involved in the Sydney Fringe 2012?

Being a part of the creative family of Sydney, bringing the Fringe to Bondi (a first!) and exploring the potential that the Russian Rock'n'Roll Burlesque Circus has.
