New: LO'99 & Marshall F - Take Me Back
The debut release from new house crew Medium Rare Recordings is a good'un.. Around six months ago four young lads met at a local coffee spot, amongst the hipsters & soccer mums they sat down to chat business. That's what they say anyway. Knowing these four gentlemen - Benson, Terace, Tom Piper and Mike Metro - we refuse to believe these discussions didn't happen somewhere at 4am in DJ booth whilst some serious house bangers were going down in the clurb. Regardless, from these chats the four house-men of the apocalypse decided to combine forces and create Medium Rare Recordings. And from those combined forces come the record label's debut single release, a collaborative effort between LO'99 (who we got to know a little better a couple of months BACK) and his partner in crime Marshall F. The duo lured them in with "tea and scones" (again, I refuse to believe these lies) and left the Medium Rare team with Take Me Back. A deep, deep cut which wobbles along so smoothly it almost hurts. The Aussie house scene continues its exponential growth.. Following our premiere yesterday of Mickey Kojak's new Sinden remix (check it HERE), we figure it time to give another up-and-coming house producer some lovin' in LO'99. Fairly mysterious, he's been bobbing up with a few sweet free remixes and originals, and we get the feeling it's just the beginning and Australia falls more and more in love with the 4x4 bizness. Take a listen to LO'99's bassy sounds below, and get to know him a little better: Tell us about about yourself? Big fan of basslines, computer games and shoes, mostly Nike. Friday Freebie: Triple Threat
New music from weakling, LO'99 and Raph Lauren's newest.. With the internet's penchant for releasing a crazy amount of new music for free, it was foolish to think we'd be able to keep this Friday Freebie column to one tune per week. With that in mind, here's three new tracks we came across this week which you can download for free. A couple of housey ones, plus Raph Lauren's latest, which was originally only available in Ryan Hemsworth's "Cool DJ Mix" earlier this year. Let's start with that one...
