Dead Meadow is an American psychedelic rock band formed in Washington, D.C., in 1998 and currently composed of vocalist and guitarist Jason Simon, bassist Steve Kille, and drummer Mark Laughlin. The band have released seven studio albums, two live albums, and a Peel Session.

“I’m not a purist,” he admits. “I am not opposed to people using loops and visual effects, but I dunno … we just play our songs!”
Mostly playing the tunes that fitted somewhere in between the psych and stoner rock sub-genres of their bag, the three-piece filled the large space onstage with plenty of fuzzed solos, cutting bass and vintage drum rolls.
“I think Dead Meadow definitely has a spiritual component. I hope it does – it’s something we strive for.”
