Video: Shlohmo – Buried
LA producer Shlohmo gives us the chilling visual accompaniment to new track Buried.. Shlohmo, AKA Henry Laufer, continues to take his work to scary new levels. A few weeks ago, the LA-native released Buried, a grim and obscure track off his forthcoming album Dark Red. Read about the track HERE. With the new season of The Walking Dead out this week and zombie fever back in fashion, Laufer couldn't have picked a more appropriate time to boost the hype for Dark Red, revealing his equally disturbing music video for Buried this week.   Directed by LA-based filmmaker Lance Drake, the demonic video gives visual substance to Buried: we watch a distraught soon-to-be-mother dragging herself through the gritty streets of LA, consumed by pain, dripping in blood, cross-sectioned with visuals of a hypercolour birth canal. It's like some surreal, bloody nightmare - closely resembling a retro horror flick - and is not for the faint-hearted. Watch below. Dark Red is set for an April 7 release.   FAC

New Music: Shlohmo - Buried + Album Announce
Shlohmo announces his first album in four years, Dark Red, delivers heavy first single Buried.. After a brief Twitter lead-in, at the witching hour last night, Henry Laufer, AKA Shlohmo, delivered new track Buried, the second bout of new music we've heard from the popular Los Angeles underground producer, after he gave us the broody Emerge From Smoke last month.  He also announced an album, Dark Red - his first solo offering since 2011's Bad Vibes, with the exception of No More, his incredible EP collab with Jeremih last year. It will feature both Buried and Emerge From Smoke, as well as a collaboration with fellow WeDiDiT bro D33J. Shlohmo's self-described the direction he's taking on his new album: "I wanted this one to be loud, and not just loud but really really f***ing loud. I wanted the sound of the thing to be devastating and violent...as if Electric Wizard tried to make an R&B record, or Boards of Canada meets Burzum by the River Styx.”  Indeed, Buried's already giving us the h

New Music: Torus - Temples EP
Torus' new EP, Temples, is a sweeping, synth-led, Shlohmo-like sonic experience.. This came as a recommendation from my weirdo-music appreciating English mate Keith, whose always got his head deep in the 'Cloud, and who always turns up great new stuff for me. Torus was his suggestion for me this week, with a little 'sounds like Shlohmo' sweetener thrown in, and Keith’s really pulled through. A recent graduate of the Red Bull Music Academy, Torus - Joeri Woudstra – is a producer from The Netherlands. Temples, his latest EP, was released today and its four tracks’ worth of woozy, bass-heavy atmospheric production to delight in. Whilst rich in tangible emotion, Torus’ tracks go more ‘large’ than Shlohmo’s. A producer like EPROM comes to mind as a comparison point, particularly on Creepin', a huge, synth-led mammoth of a track that could moonlight as a Southern hip hop instrumental. Other times, such as track U R, his inverted sonic excursions are more ethereal, and would make Clams Casino
