Time For Them To 'Settle The Score'
A funky time at the disco on BBFP's new double-single.. Melbourne electronic duo Back Back Forward Punch are closing out 2014 with not one but two new singles in Big Time and Up Late In The Jungle. The first is a lesson in driving nu-disco and breezy vocals, while the latter takes things a bit further back, for a pure classic disco groove, pumped up with the duo's patented brand of vocoder vocals and plenty of jungly vibes. Both are up for free download. BBFP will be joining Brisbane producer cln, Sydney disco-funksters Midnight Pool Party, future-beat friends Close Counters and the Acid Stag DJs for the the Mammal Sounds Christmas Party, taking over the Shebeen Bandroom Friday 28 November - Facebook event HERE. The blog and management bros are getting into bed for a sexy Christmas party.. Mammal Sounds will be migrating south at the end of November, as they celebrate the festive season with a smashing night music by some of Australia's raddest up-and-coming artists. Taking over the stage at Shebeen in Melbourne will be local electro-duo Back Back Forward Punch (pictured), Sydney disco-funk dudes Midnight Pool Party and Brissy electronic producer cln. Helping them out on the night will be Acid Stag DJ ARDIE, as well as a special guest DJ set from Tasmanian future-beat duo Close Counters. Tickets are on sale now for just $15 HERE, click the poster to go to the FB event.
The Melbourne duo strip things back a notch.. Back Back Forward Punch are a Melbourne electronica two-piece who we've featured a couple of times before, and who rocked our socks when they supported Chela/Pyramid at the recent Kitsune Club Night parties. Solid Gold is their latest single, and it sees them exploring new realms of production and vocal work, for great results. Laura Boland's vocals, whilst delicate are still bold and uplifting, with Andy Liddell's ever on-point production brings the right amount of gravitas to a track that sits somewhere between electro-pop, trip-hop and neo soul.
