#44: Kate Duncan, The Push, Creative Producer
In 2017 The Push, and its Creative Producer Kate Duncan, continued to provide creative and professional development for Australian artists through partnership programs and government initiatives like Music Works, FReeZA and Music Under Wings.
For the second year The Push’s Music Industry Pathways program included Squad, their all-female trans or non-gender conforming mentoring program. They’ve also partnered with Corner Hotel for the Corner Group Diversity in Audio program in 2018, providing women, trans and non-binary people and people of colour with training for the audio and technical industries.
Their songwriting mentorship, Push Songs, saw 48 emerging songwriters take part in nearly 200 on-on-one workshops with 17 experienced mentors throughout the year.
Music and creative arts summit Face The Music turned ten, as people flocked to see artists and industry figures such as Bjorn Pfarr, Charlotte Abrams, and Pixie Weyand.
