Matt Corby Makes Highest Local Debut As King Gizzard Flood The ARIA Album Charts

It's been a big week for Aussie acts on the ARIA Charts with Matt Corby taking the title of the highest local debut on the Albums Chart.

Corby's second album, Rainbow Valley, has debuted at #4, beaten only by the A Star Is Born soundtrack by Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper at #1 and Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody and Greatest Hits at #2 and #3. 

Melbourne group King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard have had a huge week on the charts following the vinyl reissue of their first four albums. Their 2013 album Eyes Like The Sky has debuted at #10, while Float Along – Fill Your Lungs is at #12, Oddments at #13, 12 Bar Bruise at #14 and early EP, Willoughby’s Beach is at #15. This is the first time any of these albums have charted within the Top 50.

Barbra Streisand's latest work, Walls, has made its debut at #7, as does Metro Boomin's Not All Heroes Wear Capes at #18, The Prodigy's No Tourists at #19 and Bob Dylan's More Blood, More Tracks: The Bootleg Series Vol. 14 at #25.


Over to the Singles Chart, Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper hold steady in the #1 spot with their track Shallow from the A Star Is Born soundtrack, while Ariana Grande's Thank U, Next makes its debut at #2.

Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody re-enters the chart at #26 following last week's Freddie Mercury biopic release, while American Ava Max's Sweet But Psycho makes its debut at #33.

Additionally, Australian act Dead Can Dance have had a huge week on the international charts with their latest album, Dionysus, which has debuted at #59 on the UK Charts, #9 on the UK Vinyl Charts, #6 on the UK Indie Charts and #1 on the UK Indie Breakers Charts, as well as scoring spots on the Belgian Albums Chart (#44 on Ultratop Flanders and #25 on Ultratop Wallonia), and coming in at #40 on the Dutch Album Charts, #8 on the German Albums Chart, #29 on the Italian Albums Chart and #31 on the Scottish Albums Chart.
