The video comes just ahead of the band's special-edition release of recent EP 'Illusion Of Control'.
Brisbane psych-folk faves Golden Age Of Ballooning are gearing up for their impending appearance at this year's Jungle Love Music & Arts Festival in Imbil, and before they hit the stage they've unveiled the scenically stunning, slightly surreal video for their lush new tune Calling Me.
Directed by Richard Clifford (who also edited the clip) and Bradley Murnane, the video "portrays one's desire to ward off drug-induced hallucinations and, despite their constant presence, the attempts to keep these previous life unpleasantries at bay".
The mixture of visual effects used — both practical, such as the masks obscuring the central figure's face, and cinematic — reflects the psychedelic, mournful themes of the song, while dancer Jess Sommerfeld's airy, abstract movements further heighten the video's ethereal, unreal atmosphere.
Calling Me is taken from the group's recently released EP Illusion Of Control, a labour of love that saw the band take some new risks and challenge themselves to make the songs "as interesting and adventurous as possible".
