VIDEO PREMIERE: Diana Anaid - Can't Apologise

Aussie alt-rock singer-songwriter Diana Anaid is set to return to the spotlight this September with her first new full-length in seven years, My Queen, and she's lighting the way with her bouncy but heartfelt new single, Can't Apologise.

Released on this Friday past through MGM, the single is now joined by its stylish, superimposition-heavy video, which theMusic.com.au is proud to premiere today. The clip was directed by Rock & Roll Hall Of Famer Nick Egan (Oasis, Duran Duran), and shot on location at Los Angeles' Topanga Canyon.

Despite the song's bubbly, infectious exterior, the lyrical themes dwell on dichotomies of the heart that arise when two people are toying with the idea of pursuing a more romantic relationship.

"Can't Apologise relates to the dilemma faced by friends tempted to take it to the next level," Anaid explained in a statement. "What happens when he/she gets with someone else, sacrificing both the relationship and the friendship? How do you have your cake and eat it too?"

The album was produced by Steve James (Screaming Jets/Skunkhour/Sex Pistols) and marks the I Go Off hitmaker's first new LP since 2010's self-titled, and fifth studio effort overall. (She also has a live album, Live At The Bush Theatre, released in 2007.)

My Queen is set for release on Friday 15 September; pre-orders are available now.
