Individually, Mama Kin and Spender are renowned for their musical talents — and together, as Mama Kin Spender, they take their separate strengths and fuse them into something wholly different and special, as demonstrated by their luminous new single Air Between Us.
The Music is stoked to be premiering the clip for the song today, directed by lauded photographer Wilk and featuring the dulcet backing vocals of First Chorus: Band Of Singers. The video was edited by Bernadette Murray, with choir direction by Viriginia Bott.
A harmonically driven, sweet and uplifting song, Air Between Us showcases both Mama Kin and Spender's similarly honeyed yet starkly different vocal styles both apart and blended together, brushed percussion and minimalist instrumentation rounding out the voice-driven soundscape.
The tune is taken from Mama Kin Spender's forthcoming debut full-length, Golden Magnets, which is set to land in March next year, with pre-orders going up for grabs from this October.

The record will follow a burst of high-profile live appearances over the next several months, which will take the newly minted duo — but longtime touring partners and previous collaborators — to stages at the Bello Winter Music Festival this July, BIGSOUND in early September, and both Australian Music Week and Queenscliff Music Festival in November.
