More Grenadiers More Grenadiers

Raucous Adelaide rockers Grenadiers are back at it with a loud, banger of a track in the way of Suburban Life, a big buoyant song with a vintage sheen.

Hailing from what will be the band's third record, Grenadiers frontman Jesse Coulter explained that the clip was shot on an old camera in an old speedway to give it that real '90s look.

"Jimmy (drums) thought of doing something at a speedway, so I made a few calls and scoped out what we could get access to. A gentleman named Dave from Gillman Speedway was kind enough to get back to me and say that if we covered the power bill and his time we could get in there and do pretty much whatever we wanted.

"So we shot the thing over the space of a few hours at Gillman Speedway, located in the badlands of suburban Adelaide. There's nothing around there except the city's main rubbish tip and a bunch of metalworks factories and stuff like that, it's a bit like something from the old game Full Throttle. So we got some cars kicking up some dust while we played, taking in the rich aroma of festering rubbish from the nearby tip, petrol and a whole lot of bug spray (you wouldn't believe how many insects you get under the lights at a place like that)," says Coulter.

"We smashed the whole thing pretty quickly and it was a lot of fun. Thankfully the weather was forgiving, Dave from the speedway was a legend and it was a cool experience. I think it looks pretty fucking badass, but I'll leave that up to those that view it."

Grenadiers will also be taking Suburban Life out on the road this May, stopping by six shows around the country from 5 May. They'll kick it all off in Brisbane, before moving onto Gold Coast, Sydney, Wollongong, Melbourne and their hometown.
