Brisbane rockers Smoking Martha are whetting appetites for their upcoming debut album with the second single to come from the release, What's Her Name?.
We're premiering the hectic video clip today before the album — titled In Deep — lands in May, and the track does a solid job of highlighting the band's rough-edged, raucous rock sensibilities set against the warm but powerful vocals of frontwoman Tasha D.
As the song and its clip convey, the tune deals with themes of obsession, and "the pain, destruction and madness" such behaviour entails.
"What's Her Name? gives the listener the feeling of the controlled chaos in the obsessor's mind," the band explained in a statement, "whether it'sn the 'if you knew me, you would love me' celebrity stalker or the imagined cheating of a lover who they have never actually met".

"Obsession is a dark and wild ride," they said.
The What's Her Name? clip was directed and produced by Tyson Lloyd, while the song was laid down at Loose Stone Studios, produced by Matthew Bartlem (Matt Corby, Dead Letter Circus). It follows Say You're Mine in the lead-up to In Deep's release on Friday 19 May.
