PREMIERE: The Meltdown - 'Colours In The Sky'

21 November 2016 | 3:29 pm | Staff Writer

You’d normally find Melbourne soul masters The Meltdown dishing out bursts of horn-heavy blues/jazz to a bustling room, but their latest cut pulls things back to striking effect.

Colours In The Sky is the first taste of their self-titled debut record – set for release next year – and contains enough crooning from vocalist Simon Burke to really get the emotions stirring, with an accompanying film clip just as calculated and sensitive.

The change of pace promises big things from the debut LP while eliciting a keen curiously as to which direction they’ll take. If you can’t wait to hear more, keep an eye on theGuide for show and tour announcements.

Colours In The Sky is out now via HopeStreet Recordings.
