More Pridelands More Pridelands

Melbourne hardcore four-piece Pridelands are readying themselves to follow up last year's excellent debut EP Natives, with the first taste of new goods coming in the form of fresh single and video Coalesce, proudly premiering on The Music today.

The track — available from today via Pridelands' Bandcamp page — unquestionably marks a point of maturation for the heavy-hitting quartet, the clip fusing slick visuals with a more refined degree of audio production than fans of the band's rough-hewn oeuvre are probably used to, but without losing the sense of authenticity and humanity that served Pridelands so well on their debut.

Coalesce's video juxtaposes footage of the band thrashing it out in industrial-looking settings(plus some epic sweeping mountain-views shots during the song's vocal power-melodies) with a sense of delicacy and vulnerability through repeated shots of nude women in locations from a bedroom to the forest (it's all very tastefully done, though may err on the NSFW side for more conservative employers, so be warned) as well as a mysterious, heavily clad hooded figure making their way through the grime and muck of a city.

The person responsible for all this vivid, beautifully shot imagery is director, cinematographer and editor Kieran Ellis-Jones, working with cast members Joanna AngelidisSienna Barrett and Shayana GaillardCoalesce was produced, mixed and mastered by Lance Prenc and Jamie Marinos.
