BIGSOUND is a gold mine of information for Aussie acts, and among the industry folk dishing out advice, you’d struggle to find someone better qualified on international touring than UNFD manager Luke Logemann.

Having signed Northlane, Dream On Dreamer and other bands with an international drive, he gave us some insight into the harsh realities of international touring and what traits bands need in order to make an impact on a global level

“The realities of touring the US is that you’re probably going to lose $30,000 every time you do it until you start getting a fan base there,” Logemann told theMusic.com.au.

“Work on your own country first, work on your own music first, your own aesthetic, your attitude, then start thinking about overseas. Get your own shit right, basically.”

When signing acts, it’s that drive Logemann looks for, and something he immediately saw in Northlane.

“Josh [Smith] from Northlane told me one of the best things I've ever heard a musician say, he told me that everybody looked at Parkway Drive and tried to emulate their sound but no one ever thought to emulate their work ethic.”
