PREMIERE: The Cactus Channel - Cobaw

10 July 2015 | 10:41 am | Staff Writer

Just weeks away from the vinyl release of their new work Cobaw/Fool's Gold, Melbourne act The Cactus Channel are today premiering a brand new and spooky clip today on theMusic.com.au.

The track for the clip Cobaw takes its name from a small town in the gold rush end of the Macedon Ranges in Victoria and the ten-piece instrumental outfit throw themselves into the depths of the scrubby forests and quiet dark lagoons to set the scene of the brilliantly shot video.

Kicking off with an ominous drum beat, the track feels like it's come straight out of a horror scene in a Vincent Price production, but that only makes it more awesome. You have to hand it to The Cactus Channel — there is something exceptionally creepy about this particular forest which makes it all the better for viewing.

Without giving too much away, what starts as a road trip ends up the only way you could think it does when you're going for a casual drive. In the deep forests. At night.
