PREMIERE: Burn Antares - Vangablonde

Sydney-bred rock five-piece Burn Antares are staring down the barrel of releasing their forthcoming EP Fur Coat & The Peace Boat, but ahead of its arrival next month theMusic.com.au is proud to be premiering the band's newest video, for fresh cut Vangablonde.

The clip deals with gender identity issues as its protagonist — played by bassist Tom Hoglund — determinedly yet hesitantly dresses themselves for a day against the world, clearly at once both understanding of and resistant to the turmoil eating at their sense of self. All the while, frontwoman Grace Farriss sings a sultry, sublime melody atop minimalistic instrumentation to create a statement steeped in social progress and sexuality.

Vangablonde is taken from the impending Fur Coat & The Peace Boat release, which should make its way into the world independently in May. Check out the band's Facebook page to keep up with all their future movements.
