PREMIERE: Selahphonic - Heartbreak Heartbreak

Sunshine Coast quintet Selahphonic stand at the precipice of commencing their national tour in support of new single Heartbreak Heartbreak later this week, but before they set out for their sojourn they're ensuring the song is nice and stuck in your brain with the release of its accompanying video, premiering today on theMusic.com.au.

The ascendant electro-indie-synth-poppers have crafted a carefree, street party-dappled story of the best shirt on the planet, endowing its wearer with hitherto untold likeability and confidence while a micro-scale cross-section of a festival crowd (replete with the ever-controversial cultural cringe of a white girl wearing a war bonnet) seems to form all around them out of thin air. In fact, the only major downside to the shirt itself (aside from the war bonnet thing) seems to be that, every time it moves on to a new owner, it leaves its previous wearer, until recently so ebullient and joyous, disoriented, covered in trash or sitting in a shopping trolley.

Hey, wait, maybe it's a metaphor for a drug trip!

Either way, it's a pretty fantastic clip, and well worth your time; get amongst it above, then cast your eye across some tour dates: Selahphonic hit Melbourne's Grace Darling Hotel this Thursday, 5 March, and will perform in Brisbane (19 March, 26 March), Toowoomba (20 March), Wollongong (2 April), Sydney (3 April), and return home for a triumphant tour finisher at Solbar, the Sunshine Coast, on Saturday, 11 April.
