PREMIERE: Jonny Telafone - Inferno

Less than 24 hours remain until Melburnian muso Jonny Telafone unleashes his new studio full-length, Romeo Must Cry, on an eager listening public, but you can jump the gun — and we're happy to be able to help you do it — with the premiere of the clip for his new single Inferno, streaming via theMusic.com.au today!

The new album follows the Canberra-bred performer's 2012 self-titled effort, and will be his first full-length release for Chapter Music. If Inferno — and, indeed, its predecessor The Prayer — is anything to go by, it should prove to be quite the interesting listen, where repeat spins are rewarded through the compositional nuances of his synth-soaked, waveringly baritone, new-wave fare.

Telafone will be present at the release tomorrow at Fitzroy's Polyester Records store, for a free in-store performance from 6pm, with copies of the LP obviously available to buy while you're at it. Buy an album, see a free show… not a bad deal, if you ask us.

If you can't make the launch at Polyester, though, don't despair — Telafone has a number of performances lined up in the near future at which you can catch him, including White Night Melbourne's indie music stage on 21 February (9.15pm), Shadow Electric on 15 March in support of HTRK and Finland's Mika Vainio, and 20-22 March at the Inca Roads Festival.
