PREMIERE: Emma & The Hungry Truth - The Hungry Truth (Will Feast On You)

Brisbane-bred theatrical pop outfit Emma & The Hungry Truth know how to do a lot with a little, and perhaps there's no better demonstration of that fact than the stunningly orgiastic clip for new cut The Hungry Truth (Will Feast On You), premiering today on theMusic.com.au.

The track follows Always The Last To Know as the latest taste of recent EP Feast, and comes ahead of the six-piece's performance at the impending MONA FOMA festival in Tasmania on 17 January.

Utilising a shoestring budget, a local park and a Facebook-sourced cadre of "fabulous freaks" willing to get nasty with each other in a forest, Emma Dean and her band have created a high-quality, vivid depiction of feasting and debauchery in Mother Nature's embrace (as well as that of their fellow diners). 

"Being an independent artist, I rely a lot on the universe to provide me with like-minded, ridiculously generous artists, venues, props and costumes to help me create my work," Dean said of putting the clip together. "For The Hungry Truth (Will Feast On You) music video, we were on a mighty tight schedule so we needed to move quickly.

"My brilliant personal assistant, Corinne, decided to put a call out to a network of film makers via an online forum to see if we got any bites. We had a few, but I was instantly drawn to the work of one of them in particular – Nathan Wood - a young up-and-coming film director from Byron Bay whose picturesque nature shots aligned beautifully with the vision I had for our clip.

"Corinne and I came up with the idea of a royal feast in the forest ... We wanted to use a group of acting extras to crash our hedonistic royal supper and have the scene escalate from a food fight to a salacious orgy."

If it's fun to watch, it would have been utterly devilish to create; in fact, the whole thing kind of makes you wonder why more people aren't hosting garden parties-slash-mass-make-out-sessions.

"The shoot ran smoothly and was one of the most enjoyable collaborative experiences I've had in a long time," she continued. "We rolled around, threw food in each other's faces, licked and kissed each other, groped boobies and bums and then hosed each other off when it was done. Bloody marvellous."
