If you can't catch the post-rock luminaries on tour, this is the next best thing

More Sleepmakeswaves More Sleepmakeswaves

Sydney-bred Aussie instrumental-rock pioneers sleepmakeswaves are riding high on a wave of euphoria following the recent release of their crowdfunded new album Love Of Cartography, which saw the vocals-averse four-piece earn a top-10 placing on debut in last week's Carlton Dry Independent Music Charts.

Now, as the boys prepare for a brief pause in proceedings on their current comprehensive national tour in support of the album, they've kindly taken the time to unveil the brand new music video for Great Northern, a characteristically adventurous, unpredictable little ditty that aptly showcases the band's penchant for considered soft-loud dynamics and gives their programmed/electronic aspects a great deal of breathing room as the MacGyver-esque machinations of the clip's protagonist give way to ethereal industrial close-ups and shrill, high-necked guitar screams.

We're super-stoked to be able to bring you the premiere airing of Great Northern, taken from Love Of Cartography — see why our reviewer thought it was a four-star release right here.

Sleepmakeswaves recommence their tour in support of the album at Melbourne's Corner Hotel on August 1. See the Gig Guide or The Music App for more information.
