"Surf City are a band who constantly improve along their musical journey, and it’s a pleasure to bear witness."

New Zealand’s Surf City have amped up the psychedelic aspect of their shoegaze pop-rock sound with their third album, making for an even more dynamic and lush record than 2013’s We Knew It Was Going To Be Like This.

Opening track Beat The Summer Heat sets the scene with its bright and jangly guitars and swirling vocals, while Thumbs Up channels The Beach Boys with its surfy nature and the well executed falsetto care of Davin Stoddard. Surf City are a band who constantly improve along their musical journey, and it’s a pleasure to bear witness.
