More Running Touch More Running Touch

A sold out crowd at the Woolly Mammoth is no easy feat, but the dance stylings of Running Touch and the launch of new single My Hands got the buzz peaking in Brisbane.

Jamie Lane opens up proceedings with a much more relaxed style than the breakdown focused Running Touch. With his killer voice treading over chill beats, the small crowd still filing in are treated to an unknown delight of a set. Lane only has two tracks in the world right now but stay tuned because he has a bright future ahead.

ALTA, however, are a very different story, still reeling off a huge 18 months including tours with some of the biggest names in the biz. The Melbourne duo proceeds to kill it as you would expect of an artist blowing up harder than day-old minestrone in a microwave. Most recent single Figured Out is an absolute highlight, going off both on and off stage.

Running Touch bursts onto the stage with a setup featuring a welders mask and eye makeup similar to a war boy from Mad Max. Taking the ballsy move of opening with his hottest tracks, This Is Just To Say and Courtesy Of, the energy is high and the expectations for the show are out the window. With three musicians on stage jumping between instruments while the singer bends, ebbs and flows with each refrain, the talent on display here is incredible. Levitate (It’s All Too Perfect) is a standout with phones in the air en masse and the structural integrity of the building getting a workout. Ending with an encore of My Hands, Running Touch continues to kick goals.
