Dreamy soundscapes, deep African grooves and electronic trip hop flavours

More Robert Plant More Robert Plant

Steadfastly following his muse instead of the Zeppelin path of peer pressure and temptation led Robert Plant to immerse himself in the writing and recording of his new album with the Sensational Space Shifters.

Their name says it all as they provide a constantly fluid and ever-changing sonic canvas for Plant to emote and get all mystically misty-eyed. There are dreamy soundscapes, deep African grooves and electronic trip hop flavours, while real beauty radiates from the piano-led A Stolen Kiss and gentle riffing of Somebody There. Not everything works, yet taken as a whole Plant’s vision and magpie musicality make it an overall success.
