There were teapots galore and sweat dripping from the ceiling as the crowd boogied into the night to the sounds of Sanguine.

The vibe was certainly interesting at World Bar's MUM on Friday night, as Aussie groups Residual, For The Lights and Siren Lines took the stage, playing to a room full of pirates, policemen and Pokémon.

First up were Sydney based quintet For The Lights, whose fun and cheery bluesy-folk sound seemed to ignite a bit of love in the room. As a cross contamination from a fancy dress party being held upstairs slowly made its way down, it was hard not to notice a pirate wench and a man dressed as Pikachu getting a little steamy on the dancefloor. Playing a 45-minute set, including their song Swimming which has been making waves on triple j, the five-piece band had the steadily growing crowd on their feet and dancing from the very beginning.

Next up, and keeping the party going were Residual, the fun-loving Geelong boys that everybody had come to see. This indie rock foursome have certainly got a lot to celebrate, as they are embarking on a national tour for the release of their first single Numbered. By the time Sam, Andy, Josh and Nicholas were into their set, there was barely room to move as the crowd had grown to be almost spilling out of the door. The boys were giving off a contagious energy that transcended into the crowd, with their single Numbered being a massive crowd pleaser, but more importantly their raw, natural talent left the entire crowd wanting more. Residual have proven that they are a band that you should keep your eye on, as they will surely be going places.

Rounding out a night were Siren Lines, and by the time this five-piece Sydney band took the stage, the party was well and truly in motion. There were teapots galore and sweat dripping from the ceiling as the crowd boogied into the night to the sounds of Sanguine.
