With several tracks broaching mental health issues rarely trod upon by any commercial artist, Nadine Shah's broody, gothic record is a powerful and important debut. Shah, of Pakistani-Norwegian heritage, teamed up with producer Ben Hillier (Blur) to create an album that emphasises her vocal majesty. Shah's personal favourite Floating delves into the crux of the record.
